Fring – Finally video calls supported on E72

Fring release new version for the E72. the version is 4.02(7). There is no change log for this version but one thing is sure, Video calls finally supported. I tested it with friends who are using Skype and native Fring and it works perfect. Video calls are not supported when using Gtalk (Google Talk) network.

iON BatteryTimer – Battery indicator for E72

The E72 provides very little information about the battery status. I use the iON BatteryTimer to have proper display of the battery status.

The application needs to run several days in order to provide proper information about the battery status.

The application support 3 ways to display battery status:

Using the main application
Plug-in – Display battery status on the Standby screen. To enable this option. Main application-> Options->Standby plug-in->On.
Power saver. Nice display of the battery status as a screen saver. To enable this option – Ctrl. panel-> Settings-> General-> Personalize-> Themes-> Power saver-> Select iON Power saver.

When opening the main application following information displayed:

Operating time remaining to complete discharge
Estimated future date&time of the battery being completely discharged
How long the battery holds its charge on average
Number of full and partial charge/discharge cycles recorded by the application.
Accuracy

Count Steps on your Nokia E72

Nokia’s beta labs is always nice place to look for a new application. Step counter provides statistics of the number of steps you made a day. Although the Nokia E72 isn’t in the supported phone list I decide to check it anyway.

I installed the second version which is intend for 6210, N79, N85, N96. It can be downloaded from here

First step after installing the software is to customize it according to your needs. Scroll down and select Settings and then General, Autostart on/off – Start application when phone starts, Measurements, steps target per day

Under User settings follow parameters available: Name, Age, Gender, Height, Weight and Step Length.

Once finished to setup the application we can start walking and count steps, The today screen displays steps statistics include step time, energy and distance. Navigation between Activity graph and Steps target graph is done using th up and down arrows.

Diary screen provides detailed information for each day.

Progress provides weekly summary for each week of the year.

Here and Now - Weather page

Nokia Labs (beta applications) offers the application here and now for the Nokia E72. the application provides local information according to Geo location.

It’s very nice application that works well, currently the application offers local weather and local events but I’m sure that more information will be available once it released officially.
