Why not carry it? Because I would lose it and then wouldn't have the stupid thing if I ever actually need it. It uses some gawdawful USB connector that is incompatible with all of the other USB devices in my house, so what is the point in that? And, from what I have read, the phone charges faster using the proprietary Nokia charging cable than it does over the USB cable. Finally, MediaCenter, the software that I use to transfer music and podcasts to the phone, recognizes the phone as a different device when it is plugged in via the cable and when it is connected wirelessly; I suffer through the slowness of bluetooth to avoid having to deal with synchronization issues. In other words, the cable is completely useless, so it lives in the box that the phone came in, right next to the stupid wrist strap.
