Does anyone know if the firmware updates will update the Flash player? Sites are demanding a version 9 player that I can’t find for symbian.

Hi
I upgraded and it’s broken Mail for exchange. Won’t stay connected over 3G in push/always on mode. Sometimes waits 20 minutes before it tries to reconnect again. Nightmare. Didn’t have this with the previous firmware.

The Update is available for the most devises in the Arabian, Asian, African, Australia, New Zealand. It is not available at this time for the Region Europe, and NAM.
Checking my phone, it says “Phone Software – Important”
Phone software
Description:
Improves phone’s performance and brings you the latest features.
Version number:
023.002
Updating the Ovi applications store and maps, several bug fixes for Chinese Input, Taiwanenes ISP,
What I’ve noticed
a.) In 021.024, the Nokia web browser is BrowserNG/7.1.19424
in 023.002, the Nokia web browser is updated to BrowserNG/7.1.19974
b.) The “New Contact” shortcut key now works (previously, long pressing the “Contact” shortcut key will get you to the Contacts menu –> ie. no difference between short-press and long-press of Contact key. Now long-press will bring up the New Contact menu.
c.) GPS Data — formerly the “Satellite Status” menu item will only show up once the phone has gotten a GPS-lock. Now, the “Satellite Status” menu item shows up even when there’s no GPS lock yet. (but it will just say “no satellite data available”)
d.) in Themes, there’s a new theme added (previously there’s the Golden and Black themes). Now added is the Purple personal and Purple business theme.

@ Brak – if you need Flash 9, install the free Skyfire browser. It can handle just about any web page, with everything rendered on their servers and then streamed to your phone. I personally don’t like it as much as Opera, but it’s unbeatable for viewing complex web pages with Flash elements and videos.

Kenneth: Thanks for that. Skyfire handled the web page I wanted to stream flawlessly. I don’t like that Skyfire tracks your browsing history and sends it off to its masters in the sky, so won’t be using it much, but in a pinch it’s great.

reporting from Perth, Australia, the update is not released over the air yet. I’ll check again next week or something.

Today there was a new fix available, “Single sign-on device enabler 32.0″. Just go to “Menu – Ctrl.Panel – Phone – SW Update” refresh if not automatically. In some cases, where Maps 3.03 is installed to your E72, it has been found that the application crashes when you try to share your location or sign in to the Ovi account. If this is happening with your device, please update and install the file. After Install it shows up in your application manager “S60SOA”!

Hey with the new firmware update my music player refuses to play M4a files! This wasn’t the case before the update. It was fine. Do any of your encounter the same problem?

Does anyone know if the latest firmware upgrade resolves the low RAM issue? It seems the E72 in it’s original ‘raw’ states has only 40+ MB of RAM left as compared to the E71 with 60+ MB in a similar state.

Just got the v023 in Hong Kong today, have it upgraded, having huge problems though. There is a problem playing M4A files as mentioned above, plus E72 fails to set some of the Chinese input method as default, in the cases of some applications like Ovi Map and Ovi store, the applications will change the input method back to the original setting, if a user is intended to use a specific input method, he/she will have to hide the application, and go back to control panel to do the settiings all over again.
Seriously, I am having a huge disappointment here, NOKIA!

And I haven’t had the chance to check out if the bluetooth disconnection problem from v021 has been fixed yet or not.
