Rearrange Applications Folder in Nokia E72
by MyNokiaE72 on Feb.07, 2010, under Tips and Tricks, Tutorial
Nokia E72’s default folder structure can be tricky and inconvenient some times. All new applications are being installed under Applications folder. After few installation it’s hard to find the application you are looking for.
It’s possible to rearrange folders, rename them and move applications.
Click on the “Menu” button and use following methods to keep your applications area tight and clean:
- Creating new folder -Why not keep all applications that related to community under the same f0lder? Click on the Options (Left softkey) and then New Folder. You will be asked to give a name to the new folder.
- Moving applications between folders - We created new “Community” folder (or any other folder for that matter) and we would like to move application to this folder. Select the application that you would like to move, Options and then Move To Folder. A list of folders will be displayed, select folder and click Move.
- Renaming Folder Name - Changing the folder name is also is an easy task, Select the folder, Options and then Rename.
- Moving Application Location - Applications are displayed in the order they were installed, not very intuitive. if you would like to relocate the application within the folder, select the application, Options and then Move. use the cursor to mark the new location and confirm.
- Removing Application – To remove application that your are no longer need is done by selecting the application, click on Options and then Remove. It can be done also by selecting the application and click on the clear button.
Notes:
- It’s not possible to move folders.
- It’s not possible to rename applications name

Of course you can move folders, it’s a little tricky but you can! You only need a SIM-toolkit enabled card.
- Put the “SIM services” icon in the first place of a folder (i.e. Applications), and the folder you want to move (i.e. GPS, which is inside Applications) in the second
- Select “options” and “move to folder”
- Switch to the offline mode
- The “SIM services” icon disappears but the options menu is still there, and it applies to the folder icon, so you can move it wherever you want.

@charliebrown:
Unfortunately this doesn’t work on my phone…The icon indeed disappears, but the move-action seems to stay related to the disappeared icon. So even while it’s not showing the SIM services icon anymore, it is moving it (somehow…). Pity.

I found it. You should not select ‘Move to folder’, but only highlight it. Select ‘move to folder’ AFTER switching it to offline mode.

You’re right… AFTER… I mistyped! I’m glad you got it anyway.
