Nokia E72 has internal digital compass. One option to use the compass is using OVI maps. But if you are looking for a simple application that finds the north and displays it in a easy way Neuvex’s Northpole is the right application for you.The application can be downloaded for free from Neuve’s site here.
Each time using the application there is a need to calibrate the digital compass. Actually it does matter which application you are using the digial compass needs to be calibrate each time. The calibration is done according to the following diagram, waving the Nokia E72 and “drawing” the infinity symbol in the air.
Once compass calibrated the application shows the north in an old fashioned way.

Yes, it is possible to have GPS without internet. Just disable neetwork access in your gps application. GPS works excellent in E72.

hi every body
please help me i have nokia e71 i loaded new nokia map but now the compass not working properly its sleep means white colour cant move to show north pole hope to hear from yours thanks to all friends
